Schafer Gear Adds New Grinding Equipment

Schafer Gear Works has invested in major new production equipment including new gear grinding machines in the company’s South Bend, Ind., and Rockford, Ill., plants.
In Rockford, Schafer has installed the Reishauer RZ400. This CNC continuous generating gear grinding equipment is a flexible, highly efficient machine and technology system designed for short or long production runs.
A Star SU S 250 G profile and continuous generating grinding machine has been installed in the South Bend production facility. This equipment will add needed capacity and capability to the company’s existing gear grinding machines.
The announcement was made by Bipin Doshi, Schafer president. “Like many industries, keeping up with the latest advancements in production equipment is very important for us. This new equipment will enhance our ability to serve our customers in many ways.”
